Summer interns participate in a program that provides them exposure to various disciplines at Newmont, expanding their understanding of the industry. They also are assigned a mentor to provide valuable coaching and guidance throughout their summer experience and beyond.
Denver Internships
Interns in our Denver program get the opportunity to work at the corporate headquarters of a Fortune 500 company. With exposure to all corporate departments, there also is the opportunity to work alongside technical experts in our Discovery and Development department, as well as our Metallurgical Research Lab. Denver interns take a field trip to our Nevada mine site to see the operations.
Nevada Internships
Interns in our Nevada program are exposed to our largest operational mine site in North America. The geological structure of the northern Nevada gold deposits results in a wide range of processes being applied to the mining in our Nevada operations. Newmont utilizes both surface and underground operations as well as leach pads, roaster, autoclave and flotation mills. An internship in Nevada means hands-on experience working in one of the world's richest and most diverse gold regions.

Dusty: Utah State, Industrial Hygiene
I chose Industrial Hygiene because I wanted to be able to help people and not be in an office all day. I chose Newmont because they responded to me quickly, and I had heard good things about the company from my professors. My favorite part about my Newmont internship is going to all the different mine sites and being exposed to so many new things. The most challenging thing about my internship was learning all the real life procedures that I've only talked about in class.
